News From Victory Music
We are pleased to announce an exciting new event coming late January 2012. Victory Music has a new open mic in collaboration with Café Zippy’s and KSER Radio, both of Everett WA. Taken from the success of shows like American Idol where performers have a chance to compete for the top spot, finalists chosen during the early performance will be selected to play live on KSER in the second set.
This should be a lot of fun and the best part is it’s on Saturday night. That means those of you coming from the South and North won’t be faced with that dreaded traffic jam, although you’re free to sing James Taylor's famous song on the way.
Details in the January issue of the Victory Review, HERE.
Café Zippy’s is located at 2811 Wetmore Ave., Everett WA. 98201

If you’d like the conclusion of this review, I’ll hand it to you as the introduction. “Gravity & Time” is a masterpiece of songwriting, performance, production and musicianship. It has a rhythm to it that ebbs and flows from lightness and celebration to the inky darkness of despair (and murder, in the stark performance of Dylan’s “Ballad of Hollis Brown”).

Rebecca Cohen released this collection of original songs with instrumental and production backing from Alicia Healey. Rebecca is increasingly visible in the Seattle music scene as a harmonizer, bass player with the Gloria Darlings, and solo performer. I’m impressed by the variety of styles Rebecca uses for instruction.
